The Challenge
Studio Crespo needed to enhance their online presence with motion design. The project had two primary objectives:
Creating a website animation for their client, Distant Journeys, which incorporated an existing animated logo (animated by DOGDOGDOG).
Developing a creative, engaging way to showcase a mix of static print and digital portfolio pieces on their own homepage.
The Solution
Distant Journeys: We leveraged the existing brand identity to create a fluid, cohesive animation. Working from an evolving storyboard created by Studio Crespo, we refined the motion to ensure a smooth, professional loop that included a calculated dwell time on the final frame to improve user experience.
Homepage Showreel: To complement Studio Crespo’s clean design language, I implemented transitions using parallaxing, scaling, and off-center matting to bring static imagery to life. The focus was on keeping the motion subtle yet impactful, ensuring the work remained the center of attention while benefiting from professional, modern transitions.
